The Norwood Aquatics Club is the maturation of the long-standing Norwood Aquatics Committee. Our organization was founded many years ago with the expressed purpose of promoting competitive swimming for all ages in Norwood. Our growth over the years has allowed us to continue building on our mission and support the quality swimming programs within our community!
Our group not only sponsors the Norwood Aquatics Club Winter Stingray program, but also serves as the booster organization for the Norwood High School Swim Team. Additionally, we have developed scholarships that are awarded annually to Norwood High School Swimming Athletes who are current and former Winter Stingray swimmers.
One such award is in memory of Kevin Curran, a long-time Town Meeting Member and founding member of the original Norwood Aquatics Committee. Kevin was a fixture around the town pools and in our community. We miss him terribly, but are committed to carrying on his passion for promoting swimming in Norwood!
Our swimming community in Norwood is very fortunate to have a number of seasoned coaching professionals who are involved in both the High School swimming program and the Norwood Aquatics Club. These professionals have helped foster collaborative efforts with our winter club, the high school swim program, and the town’s summer rec. team all in an effort to build a strong swimming foundation for all young athletes in Norwood.
